Heres an excerpt of an article on bbc about the possible discovery of oil in Nepal. Next stop: Nepal A similar view - from a rather different perspective - is expressed by India's former Energy Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar. "As Mahatma Ghandi said - nature has given enough to meet man's need but not enough to meet man's greed. So unless the West curbs its greed we will stay in an era of high prices," says Mr Aiyar. Meanwhile the hunt for new oil goes on. Mike Watts, the exploration director of Cairn Energy has earned the nickname "sniffer" for his ability to find black gold. He's now convinced that he will find worthwhile amounts of oil in the unlikely surroundings of Nepal. source:http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4713186.stm

may be thats the reason why india wants to see Nepal completely destroyed in civil war...........................if aNepal utilizes all its natural resources like the hydro power.......Nepal will be ten times richer than India...............but India will not let that happen as the SPA thugs and the maoists are the pawns of Indian politics determined to destroy Nepal.............ANY DOUBT????

Next stop: Nepal Its really a good news for Nepal if the statement made by Mr. Mike Watts is true. There is no doubt that today's world-economy is oil centric. It has tremendous effect in the Nepal's economy if this miracle really becomes true. In the case we find any potential resources for crude oil, the technology behind the extraction of oil and its transportation to the Purification (Distillation) Plant would be out of thought of Nepal's budget. Anyway there are some countries who are really hungry about oil; they would support! However, the news hasn't revealed about the research and studies behind that statement.

you're right mdog, as long as this giant is there, forget about anything positive happening in nepal. I would say closed the border, open it from lasha, train has already arrived there. But these netas to king all do politics from india. Some of are even related by marriage. These are all inspired by neharu, jayaprakash narayan etc. etc., had been involved in india's freedom fight and imports political ideology from them. I would rather salute Mariche atleast for standing on issue long time ago even though it didn't produce anything. Most of here don't understand the indian game and tells we have closer ties with them culturally. Hell! does it matter when nepalese have no hope for future, suffer day by day, when there is no peace ? and when there is peace there is no food on table? We have very unique situation here in nepal and these foriegn import ideas won't work.I like maoist baburam's (only one)idea about military training for all nepali. No matter what politics he has in mind, atleast it will stop somehow another sikkim in making. Lets save the nation first, then we can fight for our internal griviances later, no time will run out. First india supported china's tibet in exchange for same for sikkim,(2003) they will do the same for nepal in exchange for maacau or twaiwan or honkong. Their main intention is to feel nepalease less secure. NO my friend. a rich prosperous nepal will never benifit india's internal intention of its desire to make pan state india. Lets learn how to make good chowmein...shall we?
