This is what my novice mind understood.

Novice, India is Nepal's major trading partner (not the other way around) and they will always have an upper hand in Nepali politics as they control the major economic aspect of the nation)...Hell, even our currency is pegged to theirs so we cannot undertake any independent monetary decisions without sacrificing general public welfare. If we didn't peg it, we'd be a nation running into hyper inflation for sure. BTW, this is just the same way the US deals with its smaller neighbors.

Listen, if Prachanday runs Nepal one day (God forbid), we'd still be trading with India and they will continue to remain a MAJOR supplier of all the raw and finished materials including agricultural goods. We can trade with China but imagine how much the cost factor is gonna be in the long run (Everything has to come through Tibet where infrastructure is still unreliable and pass through the Himalayas...The Himalayas, damnnit!!)...We are among the poorest in the world and even a small scratch in the treasury can amount to a dent of gargantuan proportions. If you deny this thinking Prachanday will change this, you are indeed a novice and its been a waste trying to impose some facts into your gray matter!!

Well stopthewar, see if it was to army. They would have long time back executed each and every maoists. But in this ideal world, since they are the army of the government which has undergone so many treaties and has to follow many international war laws and regulations. No matter how close army got they always had to back off. As civilians were used by maoists on each attacks. If army did what they could, imagine the death tolls?
