I think the career women should not waste too much of their time searching for husbands who are in the long run going to be just a big pain. They will never ever try to understand the women and there will always be combatibility issues which can create problem in the relationshiips. Instead there are other ways to make your life worthful. Why do women need men ? Isn't it because the society created it? Will a women without a man die? No so why ??
lots of women in America are facing this same problem that many Nepalese women are having right now. That is successful women having hard time finding good husbands. I know the men will always come to th e forum and write this and that and act as if they have really changed but in the end these same 30 something men will diss the carier oriented Nepali women from America and go to Nepal and marry relatively submissive wives. And the career women here will just moan and moan ....

There are alternative ways of having family life as well. Single women should adopt children and take care of them. The wworld already has 6 billion people and that's too many why do we need more babies when there are millions who are dyiing without proper care, house and Family. Angelina Jolie has done this , Jessica Simpson is planning to do this and renne Zeweelger is also planning. O.K fine they are actresses they earn big money, but there are other women who are just in ordinary proffessions and they are doing it too . Nepalese career oriented women should also think of that.

Every year millions of female babies are abandaned in China.Do you know who gives them home. The single career oriented American women. If they can do why can't Nepali women do it too. In America a women can do anything if she has a reasonably good salary like buy a property or a car. So they can equally provode for the Children like a man. There is no use wasting time and saying men should do this or men should do that. nepali women should also take actions like American women. Read some of these articles and see for yourself how these women's life have been enriched

thank you Aznshawty for the nice comments on my picture. really appreciate it.
anyway i am surprised too that so many nepali guys whom i can say all of them educated could be so selfish. sorry guys but i don't believe that way.
i guess it's the mentality of nepali men to be superior than his spouse. Since the history of nepal (which i believed) men is the dominant in the house. Therefore giving very little or no chance in expressing his wives views on matter ranging from familiy to finance to almost everything.
I don't believe such thing should be the case.

Kudos to AznshawtY for speaking it out.

I believe ever since men and women are here in earth, they did what they can do to maintain their life. In ancient times, they might have worked together to gather food to survive and when women gave birth, she might have gotten busy with kids and hence men were more responsible for their food. Men are considered as physically stronger than women and were always take care of outside jobs while women took care of household jobs and this trend was continued. even in america, if we ask the people in early 50's, or 60's, there used to be only one person working in a household, men. women used to take care of kids and house. because of high living cost, it became very challenging for a single person to feed kids and maintain house and this is the main reason women started working as well. No doubt, if both parents are working, there would not be good care of kids in that family and kids never get love from their parents and there will not be very strong bond between them as well.

I think if women is also working in a house, then she is more stressed out than men, as she most of the time take care of household stuffs as well. This is certainly chanigng, not only in american families but also in other working families.
personally I would definitely prefer smart , intelligent girl who can contribute in household stuffs too. Life has become more challenging and we all need work to survive.

if men want career women why is there threads where people have sterotype views about hte type of wives they want like ....the thread here in the Sajha.....a good wife's guide.....A good wife is suppose to greet the husband after he returns back from a long day work ...how cana career women do that..wouldn't see be tired as well.
This is what I don't understand...
AznshawtY i was just trying to give an alternative for some women by seeking adoption...i am not saying that every women should do that....
smart women wouldn't cry for men they can get as many as they want.... I don't believe this statement...They will definately not cry for men ..but they can't get as many as they want.....Its the other way around...Smart men can get as many as they want.
"Career women will just moan and moan"....which is why I want the career women to
adopt children..so that they don't have to feel void in their life.....Insteading of spending too much time looking for husbands and being frustated with the results..don't you think its better to move your life forward with other alternatives??

US, you have a different defnition of 'smart'. In my opinion, it is not necessary for only career oriented women to be smart. Ofcourse education helps one build confidence, but not all uneducated people are dumb. And not all career oriented people (both men and women) are smart. I have seen examples. One's smartness depends upon how one can react in a situation: domestic or foreign. I think career should always come second to life, both for men and women.

hahahahahahahahaha...............

" I think the career women should not waste too much of their time searching for husbands who are in the long run going to be just a big pain."

i did not need to read the rest of the article. the first sentence itself does not make sense at all. what about us, eligible bachelors (:P), who have BIG CRUSH on women who are ambitious to shape up their career? :P

conjugal life is a journey, my friend, a jouney in a 2-wheeler (:P)! both wheels should reciprocate and support each other. if one of the wheels wants to run in 100mph, the other should also speed up. if it cannot, the other has to slow down and vice versa. you don't want to get flat while travelling, do you? hehe...

it's all about understanding each other, mutual trust and co-operation. if it's there, nothing is complicated, the journey is as smooth as ever. if not, even a trivial thing will come up as a hindrance.

LooTe
P.S. All those article writers that you have referenced are lazy bones who don't want to understand the passion in a struggling woman longing for her career build up. What's wrong in it. RESPECT!!!!

All the girls,
While I agree that women should be encouraged in their career advancement, it has been a proven fact that the big "women tycons" have found it hard to sustain relations for several reasons, career being one of the most important reason.

The starter of the thread might have put this topic in an awkward manner but this is something that has engulfed the career women in USA. The wall street girls are finding it hard because men by nature in general want someone below their intellectual capacity.
Not true for me though....

Lootekukur..

having acrush is one thing and getting married to that person is another thing ...
i think most men are like that ..they want a inferior wife but they stil have eyes for the smart women ...
Anyways the aim of my thread was not to compete with the men..in fact its aim is to give women another chance by adopton
Career women of these days just do not want a husband they want someone who can walk with them in the journey of life like a friend...they don't just want a man who can give them a baby...
The examples that i have given are not lame examples..they have made headline news in BBC..so there has to be some truth behind it
Japan's birth rate is going low..it is because of women's status
Not just japan otehr countries lke Taiwan and Korea too...
And it is also true that adoption among single career women in Ameica is increasing...
And you must have read the other threads in Sajha about how marrigaes becoming a business ...
These all things do discourage people to think about marriages...

Am I missing something or are "career women"/single women infertile ? Why does this "us" keep beating to the ground that career women should adopt ? Why does he think that career women don't want to have their own offspring? Or is he implying that raising an adopted child is easier than raising a child born to you?
Hey, I was born to a "career woman" . Even in her time she handled it pretty well. Now this whole generation later, these topics of regressive mentality are flooding Sajha.

well, i don't deny that the more accomplished a person becomes, career-wise, education-wise, in financial ground, the more difficult it would be for him/her to find a suitable partner. however that does not mean that they should not get married or should not bear their own child. of course there are men, who would love to marry a career woman. for sure, there are men (although may be in small number) who want to help their better halves in household chores. it's just the freaking number (stat) that had fostered those writers to write thjose articles.

i want to mention an example (a real case) which i think could be relevant in this context. i had a friend, who just recently got a phd in EE from a reputed school. he had been single all his life and just few months back his marriage proposal to a girl who had an MBA, was rejected. you know why? the girl thought that the guy is too qualified for her. same may happen in girl's case. but then he found another girl who simply has an UG degree but both met and their chemistry clicked and now they are happily married.

why i am saying all these? well, i think it depends upon individuals. not ALL men are of same nature. some would LOVE to marry a career woman (i would!). i would not even mind if she turns out to be more qualified than me. that's an asset. there won;'t be incompatibilty if there is understanding, mutual trust and co-operation as i already pointed out.

as for adoption goes, it again depends on personal choice. i am not against adoption but not ALL women prefer it. they may want to raise their own kids. so, these things cannot be generalized you see. it's like you see one or two cases, and write an article about it.
