Hi balat_carey, If you have good budget then I will recommend D90 because I haven't used Canon DSLR yet so I can't comment on that. But if you really interested on photography and want to begin it with little budget then consider reading my article D5000 vs D90 and may be you will be interested on D5000, which is really good camera. Thanks for reading!!!

you need to work more with your compositions. i think most of your shots are tourist shots rather than a photography shot. i just feel like your pictures lack a narrative so the subjects seem out of place.

Well, must say nice and interesting thread.. So, gentleman, i am not a professional or i won't regard myself as an amateur either but i am always interested in photography. I bought one Canon xsi 450D, last year because of my passion and started taking some pics too but eventually i started hating the camera not because it's bad or somthing, it coz i am still paying the credit card payment from which i bought that camera for. But since now, new models are in the market, so i am thinking about swapping if possible. Do you think any manufacturer will swap the phone if we are ready to pay the dedcuctable amount of the new camera.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks guys...

BD, Ritz camera, B & H and Penn Camera do that kind of stuff but believe me they will give you very low price. It's better to sale it on e-Bay. I had D60 before which I sold on eBay and got D90.

Thank you UMESH, what do you think will be the value of 450D, I have tons of accesories for that too, but to be honest with you, i would rather make the payment to the c.c company rather than thinking about buying D90. We all love photography but honestly speaking, its an expensive passion..

It depends on what accessories you have and what are the conditions of your camera. Which lens you have etc. I think you can sell in between 300-400 if condition is really good like new with default lens, memory, bag etc.
But Like I said previously it all depends on condition, when you buy and what accessories you will provide with your camera.
Market price of your camera with default 18-55mm lens is around $600 now.

Thank you UMESH, i guess i'll rather hang with it because i love to have one DSLR, but the bad part is that i don't have enough time to spent with it, thats the main problem. I haven't watched the CD of the camera that came with it yet. Can you believe. I however know some functions of the SLR and i do take some picture in some functions but i think i need to learn lot.. Lets hope this thread will help me, since i was lot of pretty experience people here..

Hi furke, Nikon D5000 is consirdered as a replacement for D60 and little bit add on from D90 like movie mode, sensor, image pixel quality, live view feature etc. They are pretty same with features (except D5000 can't operate lens that doesn't have focus motor inside it). You can check my blog www.umeshupreti.com for settings and when to use it.
Anywhere is the photo that I took today @DC. Just feel like to share with you guys.

umesh you've got the skills. But photography is not only about shutter speed, lenses and apertures. To improve your skills you need to learn about element of designs, repetition, rhythm, line, contrast, volume, space, shape negative space, positive space and stuffs A good photographer should be able to take good pictures having aesthetic and technical views togther. one shouldnt say i will this picture i this shutter speed and apperture but the mind shld able to say i want this picture to be so and so... I like your pics but didnt reall feel it in composition wise.
