After gaining an upper hand in Mahakali treaty and similar treaties under the rule of Nepali Congress and Nepal Communists – at the expense of Nepalese people-, India was already fantasizing about similar benifits from Karnali River as well. HOWEVER, King Gyanendra strongly took his stance and outrightly disapproved of any treaty that can harm Nepal. This made India angry and that is why it manipulated the strings to create an alliance of Maoists and said political parties. It is understood that India has gained assurance from the alliance for a successful execution of the treaty regarding Karnali, and India is reciprocating by supporting the alliance. Still, King Gyanedra is standing solid as the mighty Himalays, and not giving away any ground to the Indians. India is not at all concerned about democracy. If it was, it would have voiced its concern about Bhutan (and the displaced Bhutanese), Sikkim, Pakistan, China to name a few. XX Nepali, You seem to be the champion of educating the people - a noble cause so Kudos to that, but you have also blatantly claimed that KG is working on improving literacy rates in Nepal, yet, you have refused, thus far at least, to answer the question I asked earlier...please tell me...since you seem to have access to these corridors of power and information, exactly what steps have been taken since Feb 1 with respect to ensuring that the villagers that have consistently been deprived of an education have the access to the same? Also, since you claim that G is so concerned and is working oh- so -hard to improve literacy why has the man refused to post army outside the schools in the villages to ensure that innocent children are not abducted, or that teachers are not forced to part with limbs if they keep teaching inspite of Maoist directives. If RNA cannot be spared becuase they are busy commiting human rights abuses--like the Maoists and then why hasn't G declared the schools a safe zonebarring Maoist actions there. Furthermore, if he is indeed such a champion of education, why were young children who were picked up by the police recently in KTM, denied the opportunity to take their school exams and instead were tortured and starved?

Once in a while dude, you rightfully said that those demonstrators were not sponsored by Delhi. If it was sponsered by Delhi, as anyone could have guessed by now, the number of participants would have drfinitely exceecec 2 thousand. Just count the number of individuals in your sorry picture. I bet you must be embarrased by now looking at the pathetic participation of some 1200 demonstrators in Bhaktapur. Honest dude, you can count those heads. By the way Bhoote, you have brought to the fore a very sensitive issue that was so far ignored by many Nepalese in the USA. Kudos to you. You deserve a huge applause from some 20 million Nepalese who want the Monarchy to play a role of the guardian in Nepali politics. Because, if the Monarchy were not there to play the game of check and balance, the likes of UML and NC would surely pawn all of us Nepalese to India and we would be licking Indian boots by now. Thanks to King Gyanendra, we Nepalese can hold our heads high wherever we go.

N Shrestha, All I have to say is looks like you need a basic class in counting dude...either that..or you need to get yourself a pair of glasses....seriously, that mass of people in the pciture looks like 2000 to you?...bit of an exaggeration don't you think? As far as the holding heads high part is concerned, let me know what that feels like when there is a Crimes Against Humanity tribunal in Nepal to deal with the mass killings, forced dissppearances and torture used by the Army under KG's watch.

NShrestha, Let me diasbuse you of your notions....I am NOT a child...worse for you...shudder shudder...I am a Girl...not that the comments when made by a female should loose their strength right?...I'm sure an educated, modern Nepali male (?) such as yourself will feel no embarassment at being corrected by not a child...but worse yet, by a female?!!

Nepaali, modern science is yet to strike a breakthrough whereby changing your nick in Sajha would change your sex. No need to fool us. We all know who you are. Is that enough? Or shall I call you a transvestite?

Mr. Shrestha, ...before you accuse me of having a sex change or something similar...let me clarify for you...and perhaps for Nepaali as well....you are mistaken...I know her..she is female...like she said, she was female when she was born and she is STILL female. That's all I had to say.

Ha ha ha , Uma , ke naatak gareko timile yo . Duniya lai hasauna bahek kehi audaina? No one has even spoked to you yet. But still you are claiming that you are female or whatever??? This only underlines the fact that hypocrites like you - unable to fa3t the sea of anti-maoists and anti-UML /Nepai Congress - appear in different aliases time and again. But sajhaites are not as stupid as you want them to be. People like you, athough a handful, try to create an impression that many like-minded people are here. But, as i said, Sajhaites are not that foolish. If I was gay, I would have called you (i.e. Nepaali, or Uma or ---- u know who) Nepaali Darling. Aayi baat samaj me?

Here's the link one more time to those proud Nepalese whose head becomes higher than Mt. Everest when cunning Indians politicians start talking shit about Nepalese (don't matter king, queen, beggar, dog, or even non-living things) in indian langauge. WTF they think that they can give speech against our people in Hindi on a Nepali land?? Where is our national pride?? Is this what just a few years of democracy taught us?? The same Nepalese who took so much pride in never being under anyone in the history, even the British and defeating in numerous wars are now letting these ugly looking dhoti wearing, world's worst class citizens a.k.a. Indian politicians come to Nepal and start talking shit about our country and our situation in their dhoti langauge?? We are proud of our history but I don't know if our future generation will be proud of us when they look back at history if we let these Indians butt in like this. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-310143414616383538

What is with you people?...folks like Chakrabahadur, Mr. Shrestha and now you, Madadela..magdalena..whatever...I find that every time a point is made to which you are unable to make a reasoned, logical argument you resort to ridicule and childish behaviour...we are all adults..in age..if not mentality..perhaps, this thread needs to get back to the point at hand...why exactly are we suppsed to proud of KG again?..what benevolence and magnificence has he shown in the months after the takeover that we should be whopping and hollering at the prospect of living under an autocratic regime? Please, as adults, respond if you have something of consequence to say. Namaste!
