I am so damn sick and tired of goddamn illegal immigrants coming to America in droves like it's their goddamn god-given right. Furthermore, what ticks me off is that these goddamn Mexicans and other hispanic groups haven't even assimilated in this country. They keep speaking their native tongue, and refuse to learn English. They wave Mexican flags, and feel that certain American states(like California) always belonged to Mexico. I have a big problem with that sort of logic. Furthermore, 30% of criminals in jail are ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. There is not a snowball's chance in hell that I will support illegal immigration of any sort, whether they be Nepalis or Mexicans. I myself did it the hard way. Let me say that it took me more than 15 years to get my hands on the highly coveted green card. 15 FUKING YEARS. You expect me to support illegal immigrants who just hop the borders or overstay their visas and refuse to do it the LEGAL WAY? No way am I supporting this sh1t. Plus the fact is that they steal jobs that belong to Americans. Millions of Americans are unemployed, and not all of them are lazy, as some people seem to imply. Corporations are complicit in this as well, and they are equally to blame. Erecting a wall is not enough. Sure, illegal immigration will subside to a degree for a while, butthey will surely find a different way. If they can't come by land, they will just swim or do it some other way(god know how). So the best bet is to use the Military to guard the borders.Things are so bad that in some American cities, it is hard to get a job unless you are fluent in Spanish. This country was founded on ANGLO-SAXON, JUDEO-CHRISTIAN ideals, and it should stay that way. I also have a huge problem with H1B visa holders(many Nepalis), who get pregnant here. These babies are anchor babies as far as I am concerned. These people are just using their children to stay here, and I cannot support something of that nature. Furthermore, the reason corporations hire these people is because they are CHEAP and work for less money. Studies have been done regarding this as well. Sure, they make more than illegal Mexicans, but they make less than Americans. This is another way corporations have managed to cut their expenses.
5.1% Americans of working age who are unemployed. More than 20 million Americans living in poverty. Billions of dollars down the tubes just to support illegal immigrants. Most illegal immigrants don't pay taxes, since they get paid under the table. They are a liability to America. Plus, who picks up the tab if they get sick? UNCLE SAM of course.

I don't wanna deal with illegal immigrants. I hope I don't come across one in real life(don't care if these illegals are Nepalis or not), coz I will report them for sure.

What gets my pants in a wad is that they come here and claim that gringos should be the ones who should pack their bags and leave. Give me a break. America leads the world, and it should stick that way. Rome fell because of invasion. Let's all remember that.

I don't care what anybody here says. I do not support illegal immigration. I do not support work visa(H1B or whatever it's called) as well. The first thing America needs to do is fix the 14th amendment loophole. Only children born of American citizens or green card holders should become American citizens. Being born on American soil should not automatically make you an American. That's just wrong. Children born of illegal immigrants or H1B visa holders should not automatically become Americans. This loophole has been abused way too many times. There is gonna be a huge demographic shift otherwise, and it ain't gonna be pretty. Little Mexicos, little cuba--these are some communities that are sprouting like wild mushrooms. Pack your bags and leave this country, illegals, you are a strain to America.

Nepaali, most Americans, whether republicans or democrats, are against illegal immigration. Only yesterday on Larry King, Randi Rhodes, a rabid New York liberal, seemed to suggest that if this issue has to be resolved then Vicente Fox and George Bush the IInd need to work together. She steered clear of directly bashing illegals, but she clearly seemed to be against illegal immigration. Ed Schultz felt the same way. Now I listen to Ed Schultz(another democrat) almost every day when I'm driving. Let me tell you something. Most of the callers(they're democrats 90% of the time) seem to be completely against illegal immigration. Democrats just tend to take a "softball" approach, if you know what I mean, but this is a bipartisan issue. Both democrats and Republicans are against illegal immigration. And guess what, I voted for John Kerry. Do I hate Mexicans personally? Hell no. Also, read this article, and take a good look at some of the pictures posted on the website. Don't you think that's a bit hardcore? Many Mexicans feel that some states belong to Mexico. BTW, I am for tax cuts, but they gotta be fair about it. People in the top tax bracket pay quite a lot in taxes. However, point well taken. As a middle-class american citizen, I sure as hell want tax cuts. I mean who wouldn't?

M5, my belief is that the reason why Americans are so readily hired by these multinationals is that American managers and CEO's tend to be more capitalistic. On 60 minutes, they had this one segment where they talked about Sony's CEO. Sony's big enchalada is an American, who, it looked like, didn't really have much experience managing big companies(I don't really remember the segment that vividly, but this was the feeling I got). Sony is a struggling company in many ways, it seems, and I guess they feel that American CEO's could do a much better job. I think this is just capitalism doing it's job. These bigshot managers are already made guys--they pay their taxes and are hardworking folks. I see no problem with multinationals hiring Americans to manage their companies. The way it is right now, America rules the roost, and Asian countries are just playing catch-up. What better way to learn tricks of the trade than from Americans? I agree with your stance that this whole illegal immigration mess has a lot to do with corporate greed. Another good way to control this invasion, so to speak, is to penalize American corporations for hiring illegals in the first place. If they wanna save money, outsource. I see no problem with outsourcing. As I have mentioned in one of my previous posts, outsourcing has an upside as well.

Nepali Choro, I am not a neocon. I was against the Iraq war from the get-go, but my feeling is that now that we are there, leaving Iraq without fixing it is just a bit nutty. If you mess up a country, you better fix it before you leave is how I see it. Al Qaeda is truly trying to wreak havoc in Iraq. By the way, illegal immigration is something that both democrats and republicans are against. Just google the stats, they're everywhere. I think of myself as an independent. I am a social liberal in the sense that people can do whatever they want and I'll just shrug it off if I don't like what I see, like two gay guys putting each other in a tongue lock(courtesy of ludacris).

Although thuggedout view was very hateful he does have some strong points. If everyone can come through mexico then why there are checking on airports. What's the point of highlighted security inside the country and those orange and red alerts when anyone can come from mexico without doccuments. So strong security is required. Thus they need to know who's coming and who's leaving the country and strong border control is mandatory.
I hate this whole movement of making undoccuments legal crap. Remember, and don't get excited my Nepali fellows, they're onlymaking undoccumented legal, not illegal-llegal. Bush said on his speech to the Newly Americans that he's gonna tighten the rules for illegals. Illegals that mean someone who came throught the port legally and didn't maintain his visa. He said that he's gonna overrule the catch and release rule of BCIS. that means he's gonna deport anyone who's illegal in 21 days in comapare to 60 days earlier, but he talked about sympathy and residency to undoccuments. In other words, in simple words rather, he's gonna deport our brothers workining in estes park and ocean city MD to make money for tution , while he's gonna give residency and citizenship to Jose, and carlos washing dishes and who came illegally and undoccumented. He's gonna make hell to legal immigrants and easy to the ones who broke the rules. now how's that logical?
most brothers here have gone through the hard way. we went to school and grad school, we maintainted our status, we always took 12 credits when we were undergrads.. while jose and carlos partied , drank like fish, sent money back home and made babies like rabbits.. maria and carla made 5 babies from 5 different fathers and now living on welfare and affirmative action. i've seen lots of mexis like that...now they gonna become citizen and us gonna get deported for being law binding.. what kinda justice is that ...
have you guys worked at a place where mexis work. you feel completely left out. they are lot worse than white americans. at least white americans talk to you and respect your rights and make sure you get your pay. mexis screw you if u don't speak spanish....i can't imagine how it is going to change the work place when these 11 million undoccuments bring thier children and wives and multiply into 30 million and join the work force...
however, we can not put these undoccuments into shadow either... i think best thing to do would be only grant citizenship to children of legal parents, grant work permits to existing undoccuments, build the fence , and grant citizenship to educated legal immigrants first, like Nepali students.

da mojarity of illegal immigrants in usa is about 12 fkin millions and to deport them will cost usa for around 250 millions.. and i am sure senate wont argue with this money probzz..
and since bush is not tryn to get his soldiers bak frm iraq.. have any one thought about y is he doin this.. he is doin so da money worth risking and letting all soldiers will cost him big bucks...
he is tryna get big $$$ and now he doesnt have enough.. so goverment is tryn to collect money frm pplz by like sting operations in stores for pplz who sells da cigarrates and stuffzzz...

Thugged out ,
There you go , you are on compromising mood now . Its notta new fact that 75% of americans are against illegal flow of immigrants. Nobody doubts that the border's gotta be fixed ( but wont be.. take my words ) . Did you watch SYRIANA , thats how american governments and politicians work . They will shout out loud against border but like " Jun jogi aaye pani kanai chireko " , sasto kaam daar bata kaam lina paye jani jani mahango tira ko jane .. these are hypocracies which are accepted in governance.

Frankly speaking , i guess 70% of nepalese have anti-indian sentimant( including me), but practically , an anti indian leader( who will have support of 70% people), cant govern nepal . The best leader for nepal will be the one who somehow can strike a balance between our soverignity,..... and friendship with india. that will work for the country.

Look at leaders like McCain, Kennedy : seasoned professional . they dont think about their constuents only, they are national leaders and look what they are saying....
Thugged out , i should confess one thing , i told yesterday that you are probably not a white color worker but i retract today ( assuming these are your original postings). Keep posting.
By the way , did you watch the sunday mornig news show this morning,
Look at that jack ass sensenbrenner in face the nation . aafno aukaat bujyo tesle aba
Considered one of the most conservative media personality, Bill kristal ( fox news analyst) went far to say he is positive in giving almost amnesty to illegals.

Finally thugged out, tapai hami jasto america ko chunab ma na uthne manchhe le ,lets think fairly with human dignity and lets not sound racist, hate machines like tancredos and company.

all the best

Thugged out,

You make some valid points but, again, this is not an issue that a misplaced sense of Nationalism on the part of Sensenbreener et all is going to fix..it's easy to blame a group of people for the failures of the administration; 9/11 provided the entire Muslim (particularly Male) community; Outsourcing made it easy to prey on the H (1) (B's) and now it's the Illegals.

I know the Dems lack any form of a backbone at the moment so it doesn't suprise me that with the exception of Kennedy and Obama, the Dems for the most part have been silent. They are way to scared to make the points they believe in i.e. amnesty for the illegals who have toiled long and hard because the wrath of the growing legions of Neocons is going to be upon them.

As for the website you posted: There will always be extremists on both sides of any issue. Yes, they may have overstepped some boundaries but then again, it is the history of this nation. California was a part of Mexico; Pio Pico, the last Mexican governer of C.A is still a living memory for a lot of folks.
You have the Latino's saying Gringo's go home but don't forget that you also have the Minuteman project. Personally, I think people with nothing but language and a couple of vitriol laced banners is easier to deal with than a bunch of "native sons" with guns who want to patrol the borders.

Bottom Line for me: I think it's grotesquely hypocritical for a country to allow illegals in when they need the labour- take the best years of their working lives; make them sweat and toil and then boot them back without affording them any benefits. A majority of illegals work 12 - 16 hour days for as little as $2 an hour. If they are willing to work that hard and help sustain the economy of a country they don't even belong to, imagine what they may be willing to do if they had reason to hope that they would one day belong to this land...

By no means undocumented work force is good for the US if you think about its impact on draining welfare and health care cost. But....Uncle Sam can add billions of
dollars to its coffers from 11 millions by simply legalizing them. As per Specter Bill, they have to work six years just to apply for green card. Then they have to wait 5 more years to apply for citizenship. I do not see any Amnesty on it rather a hard earned citizenship. By no means it is a free pass!!! Of course it would be a travesty if they cut the line and jump infront of some one trying to get permanent residency thru legal way.

Over the years, many illegal immigrants already have families here. From my understanding, millions of illegal couples have millions of American children. Situation has got too dicey simply because the US government continued to ignore socio-culture impact by illegal immigration for decades. There is no realitistic way of deporting them. In other words, it is impossible no matter what conservatives like Lou Dobbs and Bill O' Reilly says.

Ironioic it is but Nepalese who recently became a green card holder or naturalized as Americans are the most anti-immigrants and they have pretty much idolized those Dobbs and O' Riellys as their Demi-Gods. May be becoming a wanna be Americans or neo-americans give them larger- than- life- ego that how they are better than others who are trying to have better life in the US.

I believe in playing by the rules, but the main culprit is the immigration system itself. They never followed a FIFO fair approach. It was broke. Atleast we have jobs and earn money to live a luxurious life when compared to illegals. They have to live in the shadows of the society and mis-treated by the employers. (You should have seen the faces of immigrants who wait in the corners of chicago streets in snow waiting for the contractors to be picked up to work for 6 dollars an hour, so that they can send some money home) Some state laws are so horrible that they move in to immigration friendly state. They cook and do all the menial jobs for the Americans. If this was pre 911 we would not be even talking about this. It is the neo-conservatives who are anti-immigrant under the pretense of homeland security want to get rid of illegals. This is how the politics work. Sad but true.

By no means I am supporting illegal immigration, but when the US screws other countries to enrich their citizens, I dont see illegal immigration is going to stop.

Also, talking about double standard, I do not believe 11 milliions illegal immigrants possibly could not come here in that monumental proportion if the US government and Corporate America did not want them here. If the US really want they can seal the southern border in matter of days and put whole National Guards patrol it.

“Another good way to control this invasion, so to speak, is to penalize American corporations for hiring illegals in the first place. If they want to save money, outsource. I see no problem with outsourcing. As I have mentioned in one of my previous posts, outsourcing has an upside as well. "

You cannot outsource certain jobs my friend. Where do you think a majority of illegals are working? They are at the farms in the Midwest or at restaurants and all sorts of small businesses working at the bottom of the food chain. How are you going to outsource those jobs? You can penalize companies for hiring illegals, but then you better damn hope those legal blacks and Hispanics or other minority groups who don't have skills to compete for "better" jobs decide to fill those vacancies. A majority of white Americans sure don't look like they'll do it. The reason why small businesses pop up everywhere and generally succeed for about 5 to7 years (which is the average life span of small businesses anyway) is because they save money by paying people "under the table." If companies have to report the legality of their staff and their taxes to the government, they lose profit; get discouraged to do more business. This has indirect repercussions. Individuals, who own businesses or want to start one, will be discouraged to do so in this type of strict environment. Banks will get hurt as they will lose potential customers who want to take out business loans. This is all hypothetical, but if the small businesses sector does lag behind, The Fed might have to lower short term rates to stimulate growth, but then inflation might pop up at a faster rate. As much as illegal immigrants can be a problem, getting rid of them completely might be a bigger one. Further migration into the country has to be limited and people who come on Tourist visas and other sorts of fundamental pseudo Christian seminars by forging documents should be controlled. Who is to blame for bringing people on Christian seminars hoping to convert them? Americans of course. US embassies in foreign countries have to start playing “Enforcer” here. Some of these folks will cross the port of entry, so you have to monitor them and make sure they don't overstay. Track them down, do whatever. Make that bloody Homeland Security earn their dime.
About your outsourcing theory, The US out sources mainly because they save on their bottom lines, plus the work force out east, at certain levels is diligent and bright. Now, how can Indian or Chinese companies outsource jobs into the US? How does that make any sense from the company’s perspective? Yeah they want to penetrate foreign markets to sell their goods and services but to come here for human capital is very ambiguous form a cost leadership stand point. They have to pay American folks in dollars and they will be paying far more than they did back home. China and India are growing, but people are getting a little carried away with this. Indian Stock Markets are a complete bubble, working more out of human expectations rather than market efficiencies, and China still has to clean up their rural, feudal property ownership mess. The US goes to Asia because labor is cheap. Do you think labor is cheap in the US? How can Asian companies pay that type of money working with lower valued currencies (comparative to the dollar) in which they operate? I can see them opening up sales offices here but not outsourcing jobs.

If they had reason to believe that they would belong to this country one day, they would want what all humans want. MORE. You give people a finger and then they want the whole hand. The US labor market is getting too saturated. This would worsen conditions. Why does the US have to play savior to law breaking foreigners who will work for chump change even though it does help the economy, and then at the same time get critisized by all these folks about American Foreign Policy? Example, Nepalis protesting infornt of the UN about the US Policy towards King Gyanendra's hostile takeover of the government. What the heck was that all about? Right to free assembly is overly abused out here. The US is becoming too much of a launching pad for people to spread futile political propoganda. People want America to babysit them and then in turn crtisize them for acting like a world policeman? Pick your poison guys. A lot of illegal people simply care about their tummies.

You hit the nail but then again America act like it is a watch-dog and police the world itself and world is accustomed to it. So everyone wants big bro's attention.;)

No, by no means am I suggesting that all jobs can be outsourced, but rather I am merely implying that outsourcing may save companies bucks. As it is right now, outsourcing is completely legal, while illegal immigration, as the term implies, is illegal. The obvious point that everybody is probably aware of is that corporations that hire illegal immigrants and pay them under the table are indulging in shady practices. No matter how much Americans whine and bitch about outsourcing, the bottomline is that this is a legal practice. Hell, even John Kerry was against completely preventing jobs from being outsourced. We can argue about outsourcing when the government makes it illegal, but till that happens, it is completely clean and arguing for or against it is moot at this point.
Now, there are two facts that counters the notion that illegal immigrants are here to make money.
1. As Lou Dobbs pointed out, 33% of illegal immigrants have wound up in jails.
2. Furthermore, a whopping 40% of illegal immigrants are in fact on welfare, according to some estimates I have come across. American tax dollars in fact go to keep these illegals on welfare. So how exactly is that good?

Now let's take a conservative approach for a second and assume that 50% of illegal immigrants are in American jails or on welfare(I can wager that the number is much higher than this). Assuming that this is the case, that brings the total manpower to approximately 6 millions(the tally of illegal immigrants ranges from 11-13. I just average the two and divided that number by two to get the total manpower). So that's just 6 million immigrants that are in fact hired by American companies. Given the fact that approximately 5% of Americans are unemployed, it seems obvious to me that kicking out the 11-13 million and replacing them with Americans would work wonders to the American economy. I have read articles that suggest that deporting illegal aliens will not really have an effect on the American economy. This is a debatable issues, but I could probably inundate this board linking to credible sites that suggest that deportation is mainly a one-time nonrecurring charge, so to speak. With the technology that America has, it is very easy to guard the borders, but the government is just pandering to the Hispanic voting block. That's what this whole thing is about. By the way, I agree that India's stock market is in a bubble. I checked some stocks of Indian companies, their prices seem to be out the wazoo. Still there are some good companies with low price to earnings.
ALso, I don't think it's hypocritical for America to boot illegals from America given the fact that Americans did not want them here in the first place. Corporations and American individuals are two different entities.
Will check this discussion out later on.

If all the illegal Mexicans were to be awarded citizenships in the next 10-15 years, then the composition of the US population by ethnic groups changes significantly. More than 30 million people will be added to an almost equal proportion of the existing Hispanic population. There is a reason to worry, dude!!

Yes, I agree Guest 4. According to AP's ipsos-facto poll conducted on 1000 individuals, it seems like about 58% of Americans are in favor of granting them temporary legal status. That made me laugh out loud. Some guy commented that it reminded him of a Crest commercial. The commercial stated that 9 out of 10 doctors prefer Crest to other toothpastes. Guess who these doctors were? Gynecologists. Most polls suggest Americans are against illegal immigration. AP seems to have been paid by the pro-illegal lobby.

the demography of america have changed significantly and will keep changing in the future regardless of illegals being granted legal status. the majority will soon become the minority. that is a fact. no matter how hard people like thugged out tries they can't be white in fact they are a significant contributor to the horrors of xenophobic majority race.

i have been following immigration reform bill progress and i am very certain that there is going to be a significant decision that will be in favor of illegal immigrants.

Speaking of this US Senate Bill by SenatorSpector, the house republican leader, John A. Boehner and house speaker hastelet, are said to support the guest worker provision, as long there is tought enforcement added to the bill.

This article is clearly telling you that the tide has shifted, and the consensus is, that the comprehensive approach is now the leading approach, instead of the enforcement-only bill.
Right now number is the only thing that count and the numbers are in the side of the comprehensive immigration group.

As you all know by now, there is no resistance in the senate, critics says that McCain/Kennedy backed Specter bill should pass the senate with strong bi -partisan vote..meaning half the senate's republicans will break party line and support democrats which will support the bill 100% whyle republican will join them at a 75% efficiency..

House minority, Pelosi stated yesterday during an interview that the democrats are aligned toward the comprehensive immigration bill and that sensenbrenner enforcement-only will not pass because it does not have strong support with the exception of the Tancredo's camp.

Tancredo was on c-span yesterday and when the reporter asked him to comment on house's leader saying that he will consider the guest worker program, Tancredo appeared very distressed and he said that he hope that he only consider it and nothing more. Then the reporter asked him whether he was sure that the house would not do any negotiation with a bill that has guest worker program, and he added that he wasnt sure because he's only one members.

This clearly shows that he's not too certain anymore whether there are enought votes that block the guest worker program inside the house.

I wished the reporter had ask him about some members in his own party defecting his ideology and are now supporting comprehensive immigration bill.

You could see the frustration in Tancredo's face, he looks like a defeated KKK biggot like some wannabe Americans in this thread.

One thing that must be said is that the president has also stated that he will attend those meetings and that he will not let anyone leave untill everyone agrees to bring the comprehensive bill to his desk.

Also.once this bill enters negotiation between house and senate, then it is officially over and that the president will sign a guest worker bill into law. You can put that in writing.

June 15th will be the day when president signs a new immigration bill that will allow millions to adjust their status. Remeber that, June 15th!!!!
