I recently lived in Ktm for 5 years and came back to the US again and the outlook is not very good. I went there with a lot of determination and longing for my motherland but the reality was very unnerving. Because of the "need" that is created in every facet of life be it electricity, water, healthcare, it is difficult to survive unless you are well connected. And to make things worse the politicians are like mafia who hire hooligans and dons to do the dirty work if they face any resistance. I am sorry to say that Nepal has become a failed state and a hopeless one at that.
New parties are popping up with good intentions but nothing good can be implemented there because most of the politicians are like vultures waiting to make money at every step at every opportunity. I am sorry to write about hopelessness but that is the reality. New parties will not be able to make any difference. It's a waste of anyone's time and hope.
Other people may have had different experience but Nepal is now all about who you know and if you have money. The rest will have very difficult time struggling with day to day life including pollution which makes you sick most of the time with some kind of nose, throat, lungs issue.
Personally it was not worth it for me to try to struggle there so I have come back to the U.S. of A. where the air is fresh and water is plentiful and if you work hard you can have a better life than you will ever have in Nepal.

@Hussain_Khan: I have always been for and supportive of Legal Immigration. Don't let the fake biased liberal media tell you otherwise ;) If you come here legally and remain a law abiding citizen, everyone is welcome! Unless you a radical Islamist terrorist, then adios amigos. Let's not hijack this thread. I genuinely wanted to welcome hopeless and thank him for his honest feedback about his experience in Nepal.

@Hussain_Khan That's a Democratic party propaganda, don't fall for it. They want every minority and woman to believe the white man is out the get you and to kill you based on the color of your skin or your background. The laws and constitution of these United States protects every man, women, and children to live freely and pursue his or her dream regardless of race or background. So, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Also, if you are really afraid of getting shot by a random person based on how you look, guess what? The second amendment of the constitution gives you the right to bear arms. It is was done for exactly for this purpose. When someone attacks you or your family, go ahead, take the gun out shoot that asshole. It is totally legal and you will be regarded a Hero! Do take the proper gun safety class though, before you start carrying a gun on you. With great fire power, also comes great responsibility. If you are still afraid of someone pointing a gun at you and tell you to get out of the country, then I am not sure where else you will find a place safer than America. Sure, you can go to Nepal but with corrupt police and thugs leaders, your life means nothing and if you are thinking about Europe or Canada, then do so at your own risk...because racist white people exist there too but you won't have the second amendment to protect you there.

Donald Trump Thank you! Hussain Khan, while living in Nepal, it was good to get a different perspective of the U.S. of A. Many people are being brainwashed by the leftist media into rising against the current Republican party. It used to be the other way during Obama presidency. The heart of the matter is that the stability of the US comes at a cost. There are many people who are a bit messed up in the head because of loneliness. Right now the media is preaching that things are against foreigners but if you look at the data closely, it is all about the crime rate. The crime rate is higher on average in the US. If you compare the percentage of crime against foreigners versus all crimes then you will see that it is a very small percentage. But you will see that the leftist media will give full attention to these miniscule % of crimes than show the reality. So I encourage you to not be a spokesperson of the leftist media in spreading the fear and misinformation that it is now more riskier to be a foreigner in the US.

I never understood why people go back to nepal for the love of "motherland". I don't care how much you love nepal. If they can't even provide the basic thing....what is the point. It's true that if you have money you can pretty much live like a king and all.....but no money can buy clean air, clean water, electricity etc. Heck it takes like 1 year to build a house there...WHY??? I will never live in nepal and i couldn't care if my kids visited nepal. Their priority are backwards!

@hopeless What do you think people having $1,000,000 + worth of property sitting in Nepal and they are all abroad ? Do you think they should go back and enjoy that inheritance ? I agree with some post here that you cannot buy western civilization in Nepal like roads, water supply, electricity, fresh air and knowledge we gain to live by our means.

I am also really pissed off that those mofos have screwed up our lovely city of Kathmandu. Kid who was born like in 2000 is almost living all their life either in darkness, lack of clean water or freaking nasty air. Forget about laws and regulations they are going backward every day. Lady who got divorced cause couple could agree on their way of life can claim property from her husband parents like she married to their parents , how pathetic is that. Kid can sue their parents for property even if have only house on which they are living at their 80's. Forget infrastructure they can say it's lack of resources, but not changing these century old laws and regulations to move society forward is pathetic. We can still do a lot from individual level , but state at least have to make proper laws and regulations. Last time I was there for month and people still have to bribe to get electricity connected house , get water line in timely manner, getting driving license is battle. These complexity in basic things and needs are killing people . 80% of court case are still property battle with in some sort of family members , these have to change to move society a head. But any way we still love our country and not completely hopeless yet :)

1. Nobody can change what nepal is. It was like this, it will be like this because the culture is influenced from india because people are selfish. 2. Population is another problem which nobody talks.
