Hi I came to US in Fall 2007 as student (F1 visa) and worked as RA. while filing the federal tax return for the year 2007, i was completely unaware about which forms to use while filing the tax return so i filed it online(1040).I got the federal tax return and also the stimulus check. Now i came to know that i should have filed 1040NR-EZ rather than 1040. Now i don't want to repeat the mistake i made last year. what are the possibilities of correcting it? genuine and expert help will highly be appreciated.

Don't worry about it. I know many who intentionally file 1040 to get the refund. In fact, there are no checks in 1040 for residency so if you go to H&R block or file online, you will be filing 1040EZ. It will be more hassle for you to file 1040NR-EZ BUT it is the right thing to do. Whether it is the best thing to do is your decision. Goodluck.
