okay, since we already have separate threads for foreign songs from different genres and generations, i thought, it might be a good idea, to have a dedicated thread, where we can listen to our very own nepali songs!!!...*applause* ...thank you, thank you!!! :P.
i am not sure if youtube or few other song sites that we know of, are rich enough for nepali songs to keep this thread going on, however, let's give it a shot, hoina? as they say, don't ever say 'NO' to good things in life!...:P....:-)
pop, modern, folk, classical, ghazals rap, hip/hop, R&B....anything is accepted as long as it is NEPALI !!!
let me do the first honor. ...hmmm...i quite like ramkrishna dhakal... and these two songs of him are in my "favorite nepali songs" list :-)..
1) a very refreshing song, innit?
2) awesome lyrics...if you have listened to it already, you have it in your favorite list and if you haven't, you will love it...TRUST ME!!! :P
Chiyapasale! That was a nice song. I have listened to it before I think. Vocals sounds like that of Crossroads but the melody somewhat resembles a Nepathya song which is as follows:
lau lootekukuralai dhanyobad hai nepali geet matrako ko thread rakheko ma...maile ta nadekhi rakheko.....mero fute ankha lu ma ni yeuta geet rakhchhu hai paila kasaile rakhi sakyo ki sakena thaha chhaina chha bhane feri saunam na hai
For the musical extravaganza part, Sanjeev (Sanjiv) Pradhan and his band can be a fabulous treat to the attendees if they are considered for the initial nomination at least. Their songs provide the right fusion of rock, pop, and nepali folk which should appeal to the nepali mass in general.
TM, IMO, I'd prefer seeing our own Dajeelingey boys, Mantra Band provide a dose of their 80's solo filled Glam Rock induced Hard Rock music to the ANA '10 attendees (perfect way to get the crowd pumping wild). Below is just one of their many hits.
