You are now the world's fourth-largest economy or sorry the sixth and it's about time you look at Nepal as a partner rather than a puppet. You had your chances in the past 35+ years to collaborate and strengthen your neighbors but it seems that the South Block and your intelligence agencies seem to view us all with suspicion and your only intent is domination instead of cooperation.

We don't understand your logic when it comes to not allowing us to move ahead when it comes to any projects funded with Chinese loans or grants or investments while you suffer more than US$ 80 billion trade deficit with China.

Please do not be petty and give us access to indian airspace for our two new international airports. Do purchase our electricity even if the hydropower projects were funded with Chinese loans or investment. If you can happily import electronic components, chemicals and many more from China then why is it a problem if our products were made from raw materials sourced from China.

If you want to revise the 1950 Friendship Treaty, then that's fine. If you want to fence your side along the India-Nepal border, then that's fine as well. But the world is changing and if you really want to be a superpower someday then you have to have a much better relationship with your neighbors.

Please do not gift us 20 school buses, 30 ambulances and 40 vehicles for police personnel every time you celebrate your Independence Day. We do not need that. I think we can afford to buy them. If you really want to help then show us and help us to bring our own green revolution in this country. Help us to establish our own educational institutions like IITs and AIIMs. Of course it will be NITs and ANIMs. You have more skilled manpower than us, so as neighbors, you can help us to develop our skills so that we can grow and be a more productive partner in the long run.

We offer free SIM cards for your people when they visit our land. Do the same for us. Indian tourists can make digital payments here and please do the same for us there as well. We need to work on labor permits for both of our citizens so that they won't be discriminated. Yes, you are worried about the ISI and fake currency rackets and terrorism and we both can work together to not allow any foreign hands to play a role in interfering in our domestic issues.

Please give us the respect we deserve for sending our men to fight for your country and protect your borders. Yes, the new recruitment policy in the Indian Army has stopped fresh recruitment but our men have laid their lives so that your civilians can sleep in peace since you gained independence from the British Raj.

India has played its hand in nearly every political movement except the most recent one, from the end of the Rana Regime to the end of the Panchayati Regime to the end of the constitutional monarchy in this country. But we now have a new government and we hope that you will support us rather than finding ways to interfere in our domestic issues.

We want to see India as a superpower. We want to see both India and China help us to rise up because we know that we alone cannot do it for now. Do not make it a 'China' issue every time we decide to stand up for ourselves.

You tell us that we have a 'Roti & Beti' kind of relationship. But it seems that your civil servants do not want us to grow and think that the only way to stop us is by creating obstacles here and there. India is the land of Ashoka. India is the land of Nalanda. If India really wants to shine in the global stage, then it must let go of its will to dominate and make its neighbors poorer.

We need to start from zero. See us as a start-up. If the Singaporeans, the Americans, and the Sheikhs investing in India are making 10x return then why can't you do that in Nepal? Invest in Nepal, be it hydropower or agriculture or tourism and get your 10x return here instead of allowing foreigners to reap most of the benefits in your land, be it real estate, healthcare, or tech.

May Lord Pashupatinath, Sita Ma and Lord Buddha help India to finally open their eyes and see us a friend and a partner and make it a win win situation for both nations, instead of holding on to the old mindset of viewing us only as a buffer zone and anti-India while most of us don't really have any anti-Indian sentiment except for the tourists who come here and cook on the sidewalk and throw trash everywhere and spit red-color watery thing on our roads!
