Hmm. Over the years everything - I prefer rock/metal/ Industrial/Progressive/some Techno/ Underground /Classic Rock/blues/swing etc etc, variety is good.

Don't let society determine what kinda music you like.

Matrixrose, I share the same sentiment as you when it comes to music.Like you I don't let the society or the trend influence my listening. I listen to music from any era.

I listen to the good ones. Don't even care what are the latest hits and cool songs unless it is good.

As far as my taste is concern, I don't like almost 95% of the current music especially hip-hop and R & B.

Anyway I am aware that most people generally follow the trend and listen to stuff whatever is considered "cool" and hip.People who choose what type music they want to lsiten are of in a very small number.

I always prefer What they call Classic Rock...Some Blues...and some songs that suits my ear...But hip hop..Never hear that kind..:)

These days, on hip hop I am listening to Kanya West. He seem real original and good. Other hip hop group/person I like is: The Streets. I even went to see him when he came to Boston few years back. He has very thick British/Cockney accent and sings rap. Sounds different and new...

Basically, most of us seem to prefer underground non-comercial music. I don't like artist like 50cents or Usher... they seem too polished and too well produced....Well, that is my personal feeling.

Like an Ox ppl here listen to only what radio stations provide you. Where the station owners decide what you should listen. And like an obedient Ox ppl follow and think that is the greatest shit. But reality is that there are tons of music which would not grace any radio station but are a lot better than the crap thats on the comercial radio. Cause the producers do not want to share their profit they will never be heard on radio.

What about Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, BeBop, Funk, Zydeco, Emo, Punk, Brasshop, Disco, New Wave, House, Progressive Techno, Hard Trance, Goa, Raggamufin, Dub, Reggae, trip hop, DrumNBass, Techstep, Noisetronic, Garage(2step)

Don't settle for radio. there is a lotta good shit out there. Tickle your ears..he he

every people have their own choice but listening to these days hip hop i think they are bull shit. Hip hop was good when tupac was there. Now it is all about bling bling and sex.
