Tomorrow will be one of the most important match for Nepal in their cricketing history if they win. They are playing USA. 3 teams (Nepal, USA and Singapore) are playing for 2 spots in division 4.
Nepal played 4 won 4 8 points net run rate of + 1.9 USA played 4 won 3 6 points net run rate of + 1.3 Singapore played 4 won 3 6 points net run rate of + 1.1

Nepal can ill afford to lose that match. The best scenario for Nepal is to win against USA which will be difficult. If Nepal loses the match hopefully jersey wins against singapore or at least jersey push singapore to the limit that their net run rate don't improve much. But it is going to be very tight.
Remember there is only 2 spots for the promotion to division 4. Nepal must come in top 2.
There is no division 5 match next year in 2011. If nepal fails to come in top 2 they will have to wait 2 years to play qualification again. Thats why it is very important to come in top 2 this year in division 5... and then again come in top 2 in division 4 later this year. In this way they can play in division 3 tournament next year. It is a long way to world cup
Sorry too many thread on this topic. didn't want to innundate sajha kurakani. Not my fault but it was showing all the errors while i was trying to post it.
Please ignore all the other thread in this topic except one.
thanks for sharing. really appreciated. yeah, must win for Nepal. Go Nepal Go!!! jus keeping my fingers crossed, hoping that they dont choke in the most crucial game tomorrow.
Nepal, the host of WCL Div 5, have not lost any match in the series till now. Tomorrow we will be facing USA, a team largely filled with Caribbean imports and South Asian immigrants. USA is the only team with players who have test match experience and as a team they are the only team in this series who have played ODI. They also have four out of the ten high scorers of the series.
Nepal on the other hand is unbeaten till now. Singapore is the only team that pushed Nepal to limits. Singapore, another promotion hopefuls, are the only team that has been able to beat USA. Nepal has heavily relied on spin bowling and middle order batsmen to win the match. Pace bowlers have been very unsuccessful for Nepal so far. they have only managed to take 3 wickets between them so for this series. The star duo of Alam and Das have been very unsuccessful (and underused too).
The main problem for Nepal would be its opening par. Both the batsmen have not been able to score higher than 11 in any of the last four match. There are no any sign of dropping them either. The only other specialist opener(Anil Mandal) in the squad is also out of form. There is a big question mark over the selection committee for not picking in-form Subash Khakurel for opening spot even after scoring consecutive 50s' in practice match.
It will be tough to win against USA tomorrow. They are a good batting side, we are a good bowling side. They will try to exploit our batting woes.
May the players do what they are expected to do and are capable of doing !!!!!
I remember a couple of few years back, Afghanistan and UAE both used to be like Nepal's rank teams. Look, where have they gone and Nepal????????????......What happened to Nepal man? I have always been very optimistic about Nepalese cricket, and thought the boys would do something....but doesnt look like it...........well we obviously have the nice players, but the problem is Nepal is full of problems, and in a country where there are a lot of other problems, who cares about cricket???????......I wish there could be something that could be done to promote Nepalese cricketers, and have them practice a lot, may be make them feel like a professional, and do not have to worry about anything else. I will be so disappointed if they do not make it to Div 4. Until this time, Nepal has cheaply lost 3 wickets for 38 runs in 16 overs......it is not good.
Hoping for the best!!!!!!!!!!!! Go boys!!!!!!!!!U can do it.............
If nepal loses to USA by handsome margin then nepal are out . Because singapore are currently 98 runs in just 12 overs chasing 193. So it is clear that singapore will end up having better net run rate than either or both of Usa ajnd nepal.
Anyway it is not as bad as i thought. If singapore beats jersey in 30 overs their net run rate will be +1.257 .
That still gives nepal plenty of cushion. Plenty of reason to be optimistic. Nepal just need to either win or push USA to that 40 overs mark. They should be through. Signs are good.
Although these are all based on my own calclulation of net run rate and i might be wrong as well. But i am not hundred percent sure if that way how the net run rate works.
sorry boys....next time.....keep focus on batting..nepal suck in batting they need to improve alot....opener of nepal need to play really good cricket...
I heard there is a crowd trouble. Jungali nepali le jaha ni baijjati garaucha. Nepal don't deserve to get progress. Nepalese people s*** big time. Can't accept loss. Honestly put ban for sometime in international cricket in Nepal. I am ashamed of what crowd have done.
It is better to lose respectfully than to show our jungalipana to everybody.
Felt ashamed of the way we got the result. Despite being one of the biggest fan of Nepalese cricket, I would have preferred to see my team relegated then not winning through performance. I really felt bad for Singapore who deserved to go through. I apologize for the behavior of fellow fans.
We had very good performances in first four match, but chocked in this important one. Our player do not have the mental strength to win important match under pressure. Once again out top order and overall batting failed.
It is a shameful day for Nepalese cricket. This may effect our chances of holding other ICC/ACC matches in future.
hoina yo hamro daju bhai ko bani kina hola yesto ?? jahile pani dhunga muda garera ejjat phalne. bahira pani tetro khel huncha ta khasai kehi hudaina nepal ma hune game haru ma ta jahhile ni dhunga muda ...pakkai niyam kada nabhaye ko karan le yesto bhayo hola ki kaso sathi ho ? plz jot down your opinions.
Shit man!!!!!!!!! It is very shameful for all Nepalese.........We had at least gotten to organize a tournament....may be no more........wat is the people's problem? If u really like Nepal to do sth in cricket, y dont u pressurize the authorized body to build some new pitches and make the players practice a lot more..............always thinkin bout dhunga mudha............when will we change?????? I was very upset with the news too, though I really wanted Nepal to go thru winning the match. Nepalese leave that kind of impression on the foreigners..........never can b gud...............we r everywhere in kandas.............may b we got to change the name of country from Nepal to "Kanda".........
I don't understand how this net run rate thing is calculated. Prior to yesterday's clash, Nepal was well and truly ahead of the US (1.36) and Singapore (1.12) with a 1.92 net run rate. Then having beaten by the US at almost 40 overs, Nepal's run rate dropped way down to 1.3 whereas the US's run rate increased just by a meager two decimal points to 1.37. Singapore beat Jersey comprehensively but their run rate increased just by a tiny 0.2 (to 1.34).
Anyway, Nepal is playing pretty well in the final. What a performance by the slow left arm bowler Vishwakarma whose extraordinary spell saw the collapse of the quite formidable US batting. Nepal's chasing 173 for victory and is quite well placed at 63/0 at the end of 15th over. We should win this one, if we bat sensibly.
