Dear Fellas:

I am planning to fly via London to Nepal. I was just wondering, do I need a British Transit Visa inorder to connect my flight through London route???? Recently, UK started a transit visa for passengers of several countries including Nepalese who want to fly via Britain.

So, does anyone has any information or experience regarding this transit British VISA. Could you please assist me on this matter.

just the fellas can answer?

Anyhow, YES you do need a transit VISA, to go via London. However, no one actually looks at it at the London airport (well they didn't when I was there!) But if you are coming through the same route they will not confirm your ticket unless you have that visa on ur passport.

My suggestion, get it. Either here or in Nepal... you would have to get it anyhow, if you are planning on coming back.

Have a nice trip!

From my experience, its same as wateva's, they didn't see the visa while going to Nepal. However, coming back, they confirmed the visa in Qatar, and also stamped in Heathrow before flying away from Britain.

So, the conclusion is, you need the transit visa while travelling via London. And I guess its easy to obtain one.

Happy holidays!!

Depending on what airport you fly out of here they will check to see if you Transit Visa or not. YOu better hurry because the British Embassy is the slowest- TOO MUCH SECUTRITY

You May NOT need a transit visa if you fall under one of the EXEMPTIONS, Check this out:

Quest,
If you have a valid entry visa (stamped on your passport) to the US, you don't need the transit visa in London.

Yes.... You do need a transit Visa to fly via London on Nepalese Passport. But if you have US green card and Nepalese passport then no.... you don't need to have to have the visa.
Hope that help
Peace

Dear friends:

Thanks all of you (Whateva, WorldMap, ChicadaNepal, Poonte, Nomad, Rusty and LambuDai) for your solid information regarding the transit British Visa.

Yes I do not fall under any catagory to exempt my tranist Visa requirement catagory and I also do not have a valid US Visa stamp on my passport, so I follow all of you to get a transit Visa from British Embassy here in the States. I am sure the British Embassy here also does not escape away from scrutiny as ChicadNepal ji said. However, that was a good idea to apply in advance for Visa application.

Moori Moori Dhanyabaad to all of you nice fellow Nepalese for giving me such a solid information. I am sure, it assist me tremendously.

Thank you Whateva, WorldMap for wishing me nice trip and vacation. I sure do need it, and I can't wait to see my near and dear ones. I can't wait to feel the aroma of my home sweet home and my motherland.

Sorry for such a delay response to you all- as you know that how hectic it is to get things from Grandma to niece.

Many thanks!!!!

SuvaChintak
