I went to Nepalese Embassy few weeks back to renewal my passport and i had to go through hell. I got there around lunch time and they asked me to come back after the lunch and I went once again after the lunch and they were like concern person is not here so come back tommorow. What the F****, these foos have nothing to do at the embassy but talk about nothing. Oh yeah, when my friend went to renewal his passport few months back, they were like we were out of the passport.....and that subba guy was looking at my face expecting something I guess...

Co-Ambassadorship:). (to avoid any power struggles). Haha. J/k bro. 1st thing i would do is: Send those bhatmaras back to Nepal and hire some Nepali students studying in U.S to do the general work. They are more efficient, hardworking and it will save lotsa $$$ of Nepali government as they do not have to spend much on flight tickes and reasonable salaries, benefits etc. ( assuming sabai dela bhanera hai feri). Besides it would actually help at least couple of Nepali students. Natra ahile ta tyai yeuta passport banaune bahek tyo jatha haru ko ke kaam cha? Yeso royal emabassy ( assuming raja hucha bhanera, natra republic trance party ni garam ma every forthnight? hunna? Any suggestions? In jest, IndisGuise:)

All those Bhatmara's care about staying in America for extended period of time. !st they want to find a job for their spouse and hora/chori in Indian households and restaurant and ask for Green Card sponcer. Most of their kids are working in Indian Restaurant in DC. When I was there I heard one Tori Lahure was talking about finding job for his daughter in Indian Restaurant. I do not know about Ambassador but Subba and Deputy seems Ghusya.

For me it took more than two weeks to get my renewed passport by mail from Nepalese Embassy at DC. And in the mean time I called 2-3 times to make it ASAP for me. The passport arrived but with a mistake and again I had to sent it back for correction. Usually you have to submit your passport to renew it 6 months before the expiration date. The worst thing was the handwriting in it looked like as if it was written by a student of class 3.

The people working for the Nepalese Embassy in the US might be working in the US so what ???...after all they are from the same country of Nepal with the same work ethics and attitude towards civil service..to be accurate lets say it's Nepal's one of government office abroad and only difference it is a Nepali government office that exist outside of Nepali border. So do expect the same headaches, carelessness, hassles and delays..as you would get from govt. office in Nepal.

No idea about DC embassay, but Nepali Embassay in PRC, Beijing deserve praise for their dutifulness. I don't know about any other's experiences but mine was a fine one. Documents sent on mail (as instructed by an official, who was very helpful), including the fee of pasport renewal, documents arive safe and sound within a week. Nice work, appreciate their duty execution, hope and belief they will keep up with the nice work, and others, elsewhere will learn and change for good.

That's the reason why I am abandoning the Nepali Citizenship and getting US citizenship so that I don't have to deal with those J***ass. I had very bad experience when I called in DC's nepali embassy. The guy who answered was rude and didn't know what he was talking. I asked about the fees and he gave me lotta shit about the fees. If I had known him personally and if he would ever returned to Nepal.....I would meet him in the street and tell him SOME languages.....I was really mad..... I had very good experience with NY embassy.....i don't know if anybody has any bad encounter in the NY office........ I am happy that I don't have to renew passport in here no more........... that's it....... Ram Prasad

Rajane, I think you need to notify your local police and they will have you throw a ad on paper and you need to sent a copy of that ad along with your application for new passport to nepalese Embassy. BUt the bad part is you go to go through all ( in this thread) Good luck

I never had to renew my passport so I never had to deal with any such sort of experience however whenever I had to deal with govt offices when I was in Nepal some 5 years ago...it almost always used to boil up by brain. In Nepal I had to almost beg for something that I had the right to get here I can not only demand it but I can also complain if not sue govt for carelessness or any other forms of misfconduct. Anyway I dont need to use my first ever Nepali passport anymore and I dont need to deal with those a##ho##s.

Charikote Maila, Before giving lecture about etiquette and mannar of their duty, I think we should learn what is an important, I understood that you had gone to Nepalese Embassy during lunch hour, and you were asked to come back after lunch, then you went again, you could not see the particulars person right. Have you made an appointment with that person? Have you read the working hours out side by the door? Don't you know that dropp of time between 10 am to 12 PM and pick up time from 3pm to 4:30 PM. We should respect time hour of our own Embassy. If some one does not do his duty we must submitte written complain to the high destination. Other guy was crying about bare food. The might have gone to the Emabssy during Buddha Jayanti day or Memorial Day, Office was closed, he was lucky guy at least he was greeted by opening door and informed to come during regular hours.
