If you're a US citizen, you can sponsor your parents for permanent residency, the whole process will take less than 1 yrs.

but for your bro/sis...10 years.

well then, you just make him go to the embassy and apply for tourist visa, to come visit you. show all the docuemtns, the financial affidative, and his assests in nepal, and just apply for a tourist visa.

show both, the more the better, if your parents are working, have them write a letter from their employers that they'll be returing home for their careers.

Hey Don_Key
Sorry for the late response, but here is my input. Both my parents have been here and I dont even have US citizenship. If you want them to bring them here for couple of months, they will have to apply for tourist visa. For that, they will need a letter of sponsorship from you saying that you will provided financial support while they are here. They will have a place to stay and their travel expense will be covered by you. It is optional, but you can send your bank statements along with that letter and a proof of residency (home ownership, lease). I would advise you to be very thorough with your paper work just coz you mentioned the age of your parents. Usually when they are at that age and 'might' need some medical help..they would rather not send them here (at the expense of US taxpayers).
From their part, they should show a significant bank statement to prove that they are capable of traveling to US as tourist. Ticket expense, about 2K cash, cost of living in US for couple of months, and still some leftover in Nepal so that they will go back. It is important to let them know that you are wealthy enough to travel to US as a 'tourist'. I don't know how it works with the assests, but I would show watever you have. My parents are from kathmandu so they have gathered enough assets over time. But I all the embassy folks want to know is that your family has 'stuff' back in Nepal that they would want to return. So ask them to show good bank balance, proof of assets, as I assume your parents are well over working age...prolly a recent medical report saying that they are fine and dandy.
Having said all that....I dont think you have anything to worry as you are already a US citizen and it should be easier for you to bring parents. And because they are getting old, its pretty common for them to want to go back to Nepal.
Dont worry...just be precise with your paper work! Good Luck!
